What is Ultimate?
What sport do you play on a football-sized field, run and transition from offense to defense and back like soccer,
make a goal in the end zone like football and pivot like in basketball?
It's ULTIMATE!
Ultimate is a non-stop, action-packed game of Frisbee between two 7-player teams.
The disc is passed between teammates in an attempt to pass it into the end zone for a score.
But an offensive attack can easily be thwarted by an untimely turnover -
a dropped pass, an interception, a pass out of bounds, or when a player is caught
holding the disc for more than ten seconds. Ultimate is governed by Spirit of the Gametm,
a tradition of sportsmanship that places the responsibility for fair play on the players
rather than referees. It is currently played in more than 42 countries in junior highs,
high schools, colleges and universities and at the club level.
Please send an
email to Coach Kevin
if you are interested in playing Ultimate.
AZVA Teams
Ultimate matches are conducted as part of the High School
and Junior High sports program. However, younger grades are
highly encouraged to join in on the
practices.
This year we will again try to form 3 teams for AZVA (East Valley, West Valley and Tucson/Oro Valley).
The teams will start practicing in August and then play matches in September and October.
Please refer to the
CAA Ultimate page for more
information on the team schedule.
